FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
  • What does Church of God the Bibleway believe?
We believe that the King James Version Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God and is the source of all truth and it alone is to be the guide for church structure, order and doctrine. We consider the Holy Bible to be the superior in all matters concerning the church. It is the law to the lawless, the guide to the Pastor and is the authorized Word of God profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction and instruction in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16 - All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness). We believe that the Word of God should be rightly divided. We believe in the Patriotic age, legal age, jurisdictional age, prophetical age, and the doctrinal age. During the Patriotic age, men were governed by the words of the patriotic. During the legal age, they were judged by the law of Moses. During the jurisdictional age, the judges ruled the nation of Israel, during the prophetical age; the prophets had the responsibility of overseeing the nation of Israel. In this dispensation, we believe that man must govern themselves by the Apostle's doctrine that was given to the Apostles of the Lamb and it is the responsibility of the church to abide and continue therein (Acts 1:1-8, Acts 1:1 - The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach, 2 Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen: 3 To whom also he shewed himself alive after his possion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God: 4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. 5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. 6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wit thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? 7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the season, which the Father hath out in his own power. 8 But ye shall recieve power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witness unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth; Acts 2:42 - And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.) We believe that no other doctrine should be taught or preached within the church (1 Timothy 1:3 - 3 As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine, 2 John 1:9-10 - 9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. 10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: Romans 16:17 - 17 Now I beseech you, brethern, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.).
  • What must I do to be saved?
Hear (Romans 10:14), Be baptized in Jesus name (Acts 19:5), Believe with your heart (Romans 10:10), Speak in tongues (Mark 16:17), Repent (Acts 2:38) and Abide steadfast in the Apostle's Doctrine (Acts 2:42).
  • What is baptism?
Baptism is an ordinance ordain by God as a part of the divine plan of slvation. It is an order given by God for salvation and not just a symbolic outward expression. John 3:5-6 shows Jesus Christ making it plain to Nicodemus that he had to be born of the water and spirt to enter into the kingdom of God. The last commandment that Jesus gave before he left was for the church to go and baptize (Matthew 28:19-20, Mark 16:16-17). In I Peter 3:18-21, Peter expresses the fact to us that baptism is a part of the saving plan of God.
  • Why must I be baptized?
(Romans 5:12-21, Romans 6:1-10) It should be explained that man has two categories of sin in his life: the Adamic sin and committed sins. Committed Sins are those sins, which an individual commits. Thes sins are unusually mentioned in the Bible under the word "sins" and can only be forgiven by repentance from the individual who committed them (I John 2:9-10, II John 2:1-2). These sins need repentence from the one who has committed it (Luke 13:3-5). Repentence - sorrow for doing wrong; regret. Adamic Sin is the second type of sin that every human has and most times in the scripture it is referref to when the word "sin" appears singular. This sin has a different remedy than committed sin. Committed sin is resolved by repentance of the person who committed them. The Adamic sin can only be removed by death. Romans 6:23 say the wages of sin is death. This is what God said would be the payment for the one sin that was inputted to all men through Adam - death (Romans 5:12, Genesis 2:16-18). Baptism according to Romans 6:1-10 is in fact the death that gets rid of the Adamic sin so that we can be acceptable in God's sight.
  • Along with the water baptism, do I have to be baptized with the Holy Ghost to be saved?"
Yes. According to the Holy scriptures, the baptism with The Holy Ghost is an experience that all who wish to be saved must have according to John 3:1-8 and Romans 8:9. We believe that the baptism with the Holy Ghost is signified by speaking in tongue according to Acts 2:4 and Acts 19:1-6.
